This position is for a .5 Special Education Teacher and .5 Special Education Instructional Assistant. The primary function is to educate all students substantially and effectively by demonstrating professional leadership, assessing and communicating learning results, demonstrating knowledge of content, reflecting on teaching and learning, designing and planning instruction, collaborating with colleagues, parents, and others, creating and maintaining a learning climate, engaging in professional development, implementing and managing instruction, and demonstrating the implementation of technology. The role involves implementing all rules and regulations, policies, and administrative guidelines, maintaining accurate records, guiding the learning process towards curriculum goals with clear objectives and assessments, meeting and instructing assigned classes, planning a program of study that meets individual student needs, creating a conducive learning environment, preparing for classes, taking precautions to protect students and property, being available to students and parents, striving to improve professional competence, attending staff meetings, promoting positive public relations, reporting absences promptly, maintaining a professional appearance, incorporating technology, and maintaining regular attendance. Adherence to the Professional Code of Ethics is required.
