About The Position

The Santa Rita Union School District (SRUSD) is seeking a Special Education Teacher - SDC Mild/Mod. This role is responsible for classroom instruction, identifying students' needs, applying appropriate instructional programs and strategies, assessing student progress, managing the classroom environment, and communicating with parents. The teacher will also assist other staff members in implementing the District's overall educational program.

Requirements

• Appropriate California Teaching Credential authorizing service in K-8 schools and classroom assigned.
• Knowledge of instructional methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with administration, staff and community.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction, appropriate to the educational program of the District, to assigned students according to needs.
• Provides parents with regular evaluations of their child’s progress in the program.
• Assists other staff members in the implementation of the overall educational program of the District.
• Teaches the adopted course of study for the assigned grade level and subject.
• Prepares plans appropriate for the instructional activities needed by students in the assigned classroom.
• Plans and directs the work of an instructional aide, if one has been assigned.
• Maintains records and submits reports as required.
• Reports periodically to parents on the program of their child.
