About The Position

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) Special Education Teacher position located at Hoffman-Boston Elementary School. The role requires a teacher with Virginia licensure and a Special Education endorsement. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with autism, knowledge of various instructional strategies for students with autism, and experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Proficiency with the Picture Exchange Communication System and assistive technology is also required. Key responsibilities include effective teamwork, flexibility, dependability, strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to design, implement, and evaluate individual behavior management systems. Salary will be determined based on the FY 2026-27 salary schedule.

Requirements

  • Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure
  • Special Education endorsement
  • Experience working with children with autism
  • Knowledge of and experience with a variety of strategies for instruction for students with autism
  • Knowledge and experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Experience with the Picture Exchange Communication System
  • Knowledge and experience using assistive technology
