This is a salaried exempt managerial position that has discretion to make decisions and has access to confidential employee and business information. The role requires demonstrating instructional and team leadership skills based on New York State Teaching and Learning Standards, Common Core, and knowledge of Early Childhood Special Education. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for designing and implementing an effective, evidence-based curriculum for assigned children (toddlers, preschool, and/or school-age) to facilitate progress toward IEP and/or IFSP goals. Collaboration with parents, related service providers, and multidisciplinary team members is essential for assessing and revising instructional strategies to ensure positive student outcomes. This position directly supervises teacher assistants, teacher aides, volunteers, and others assigned to the classroom.
