About The Position

Kokua is seeking a long-term certified special education substitute teacher to support students in Denver, CO partner schools. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community, help address the teacher shortage, and provide students with classroom role models. The position is a long-term assignment, typically involving 5 days a week in the same school, with working hours generally from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Candidates will have autonomy in choosing assignments and locations. Kokua Education, founded by a former teacher, has been connecting individuals to K-12 substitute teaching positions for over 12 years and operates in schools across the country, including Denver.

Requirements

• Colorado Special Education certification
• Bachelor's degree + state-approved program for special education generalists or 24 semester hours deemed acceptable by the CDE
• 1+ year(s) experience working with students
• Confidence to manage a classroom of students
• Ability to pass state & federal background check
• Strong belief that every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world
