About The Position

This is a full-time, 11-month position (37.5 hours/week, 214 days/year) at Morse Pond School for the 2026-2027 School Year. The role involves providing essential secretarial and administrative support to the special education building administrator and other administrators as needed. The position requires a high level of technical skill, organizational ability, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a professional and welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma with postgraduate secretarial study preferred
  • High level of technical skills including typing of 60 words per minute and familiarity with a variety of office machines
  • Proficiency with computer applications and technology
  • Ability to serve the public, faculty, and students in professional, efficient, and pleasing manner
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Well-organized and adept at organizational procedures
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Meet deadlines and work under time constraints
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may deem appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Advance an office entry climate that is welcoming, inclusive and develops a sense of belonging
  • Provide clerical support to the special education building administrator and support for other administrators as necessary
  • Effectively manage/coordinate simultaneous projects and successfully prioritize multiple tasks with good judgment in a highly organized, detail-oriented and thorough manner.
  • Manage special education office routines that may include but are not limited to mail, telephone, correspondence, communication with families and staff related to scheduling, district office administration and outside service providers
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Lead responsibility for appropriate handling reports and materials including but not limited to special education legal documents and other such documents concerning the operation of the office of the special education building administrator
  • Assist with correspondence, reports, and notices when requested
  • Work as an integral part of the administrative office team
  • Support regular office duties that include but are not limited to answering the phone and dismissing children
  • Perform such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by Special Education Building Administrator and/or Principal
