About The Position

Point Quest Group is hiring a Special Education Resource Teacher for a high school in San Lorenzo, California, for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position starting in September 2026. The teacher will provide specialized instruction, develop and manage individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams, and support an inclusive learning environment. The schedule includes four teaching periods and two periods for preparation and case management. Point Quest Group provides special education services in partnership with more than 350 school districts. Requirements

Valid California Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Generalist license or active special education credential.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year of classroom experience.
Ability to be a flexible team player.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and students.
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
Provide specialized instruction in academics, behavior, social-emotional learning, and executive functioning.
Deliver research-based interventions based on individual student needs.
Monitor student progress and maintain compliant documentation and progress reports.
Coordinate annual, initial, and reevaluation IEP meetings.
Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families.
Collect and analyze assessment data to guide instruction and eligibility decisions.
Foster a safe, equitable, and supportive learning environment.
