About The Position

Lionsgate Academy, a school dedicated to educating students with Autism and other learning differences, is seeking a mission-driven Special Education Programs Supervisor to lead its Center Based program. The school emphasizes inclusion, respect, and customized learning, aiming for student-centered excellence. The role involves providing leadership and oversight to high-needs, center-based classrooms, directing student programming, supervising due process paperwork, and coaching teachers in behavior management. The supervisor will collaborate with teams on behavioral and academic/functional programming, support students with significant cognitive disabilities in accessing education in the least restrictive environment, and serve as a visible presence for students, staff, and families. This is an active role in school leadership and crisis management within a unique, close-knit school culture focused on student growth and innovation.

Requirements

Current Minnesota teaching license
5 or more years working in Special Education
Experience working with students with autism and developmental cognitive (DCD) delays
Experience with augmentative communication (AAC) devices
Experience as an instructional coach/mentor for special education teacher

Nice To Haves

BCBA certification
Experience with STAR, Attainments or other curriculum that addresses functional skills
2 years or more as a Supervisor or informal Leader

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and oversight to high-needs, center-based classrooms on the Shoreview Campus
Direct student programming and supervise due process paperwork
Actively coach and supervise teachers in behavior management
Collaborate with teams to develop and deliver behavioral and academic/functional programming
Support students with significant cognitive disabilities in accessing education in the least restrictive environment
A partner and visible presences for students, staff, and families
Active collaborator in school leadership and crisis team
