About The Position

Pathway School of Discovery, located in Dayton, OH, opened in 2003 and serves students K-8. At Pathway, you can connect passion with purpose. We are seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to provide instructional and behavioral assistance to students in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or their 504-behavior plan. This role involves supporting students 1:1 or in small groups, committing to educating the whole student, and implementing result-driven curriculum. The position requires attending professional development, specialized trainings, and IEP meetings, as well as assisting with compliance documentation.

Requirements

Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications.

Responsibilities

Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or their 504-behavior plan as directed by the special education team. Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.
Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
Implement result-driven curriculum and instruction specially designed to meet the unique needs of each student resulting from his/her disability such as, resource room, inclusion and/or pullout services.
Attend professional development, specialized trainings and IEP meetings with special education team and parents as required.
Assist with the required compliance documentation.
