About The Position

Macon R-1 School District is looking to fill an Elementary School Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. As part of our team, you will work in a community of great people that support you and be equipped with skills to identify and resolve trauma impacts as part of a trained Trauma Informed District. This is a full-time position working with students with disabilities.

Requirements

• Must obtain, at minimum, a valid Substitute Certificate issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and work with the Special Education teachers to best serve our students.
• Follow the students’ education plans as prepared by the special education teacher.
• Monitor student progress, and participates in review and revision of IEP, as appropriate.
• Maintain appropriate student data and other records as required by the special education teacher.
