About The Position

Pathway School of Discovery, located in Dayton, OH, opened in 2003 and serves students K-8. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help us connect passion with purpose. We offer starting pay above market scales, an experienced leadership team, and a high level of support for all staff. We provide a safe learning environment with external and internal cameras, high parent involvement, and behavioral support for teachers and students (ABSS) through a Dean support model.

Requirements

• Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
• Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
• Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or their 504-behavior plan as directed by the special education team.
• Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.
• Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement result-driven curriculum and instruction specially designed to meet the unique needs of each student resulting from his/her disability such as, resource room, inclusion and/or pullout services.
• Attend professional development, specialized trainings and IEP meetings with special education team and parents as required.
• Assist with the required compliance documentation.
