Requirements

  • Minimum of 48 credit hours; or Associate degree or higher (official transcripts); or Passing scores on one of the following assessments: ETS (460 or higher) WorkKeys Exam Applied Mathematics – 4 Reading for Information – 4 Writing/Business Writing – 3 ParaEducator Master Teacher Assessment 1 – Instructional Support: 65% Assessment 2 – Content and Application: 70%
  • Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
  • Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or their 504-behavior plan as directed by the special education team.
  • Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.
  • Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
  • Implement result-driven curriculum and instruction specially designed to meet the unique needs of each student resulting from his/her disability such as, resource room, inclusion and/or pullout services.
  • Attend professional development, specialized trainings and IEP meetings with special education team and parents as required.
  • Assist with the required compliance documentation.
