About The Position

Operates under general guidelines provided by a supervising teacher under the direction of the site administrator(s), and provides instructional, supervisory general and/or special educational assistance to students and teachers. Special Education implements specialized programming and/or instructional support both in and outside of the general education classroom, supervised by the special education teacher for the purpose of student growth.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students and the public.
Ability to read, write and speak in order to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities.
Pass pre-employment physical.
Must be willing to obtain if needed a substitute teaching license (paid for by district).

Nice To Haves

Proficiency on paraprofessional assessment.
Possess an AA Degree, or the equivalency of two years of undergraduate college classes (approximately 48 hours).
Experience in Lindamood Bell.

Responsibilities

Implement schedules and routines under the direction of the supervising teacher.
Work 1-to-1, in small groups or in full classroom settings.
Complete and perform clerical tasks.
Support school-wide and classroom management plans.
Meet the educational, physical and emotional needs of a variety of students assigned.
Model the District's Mission and Belief Statements.
Utilize basic technology as directed by the District to communicate and function effectively.
May include outside supervision in inclement weather.
Assist with supervisory, clerical or other job-related duties as assigned.
Adhere to the district classified handbook and school staff handbook.
May be asked to sub in classrooms when needed.
