About The Position

The purpose of this position is to have an individual who can assist teachers in the delivery of instruction to students. This role involves managing the learning environment by implementing student goals and objectives, utilizing educational materials, maintaining a neat classroom, performing scheduled duties, and fulfilling paperwork responsibilities. It also includes student interactions such as providing a safe and supportive learning environment, relating well to students, promoting positive self-concept, and accepting responsibility for the well-being of assigned students. The professional qualities expected include adhering to academic, ethical, and social standards, communicating clearly, dressing appropriately, accepting feedback, maintaining confidentiality, being equitable and sensitive to all learners, and having good attendance. Additionally, the role requires positive working relationships with school personnel, a willingness to share ideas, effective collaboration with administrative personnel, and compliance with school and district decisions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students, under the direction of the teacher, nurse/or support staff
  • Ability to follow directions effectively.
  • Familiarity with student instructional and disciplinary procedures.
  • Ability to implement assigned tasks and activities.
  • Diligence in monitoring students’ safety and security.
  • Ability to support and reinforce the teacher's expectations for students.
  • Able to follow directions promptly and effectively.
  • Able to relate to students as a caring adult.
  • Able to work with students on academic tasks assigned by the teacher.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of higher education preferred.
