About The Position
Alliance Academy of Cincinnati, located in Cincinnati, OH, opened in 2004 and serves over 350 K-8 students annually. The school offers starting pay above market scales, experienced leadership, outperforming local districts on state tests, a high level of support for all staff, a safe learning environment, high parent involvement, and behavioral support for teachers and students (ABSS) through a Dean support model. This role involves assessing student abilities and providing instructional and behavioral assistance according to their IEP and/or 504-behavior plan, working 1:1 or in small groups. The position commits to educating the whole student and implementing curriculum designed to meet unique student needs resulting from disabilities. The role also includes attending professional development, specialized trainings, and IEP meetings, as well as assisting with compliance documentation.
Requirements
- Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
- Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
- Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or their 504-behavior plan as directed by the special education team.
- Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.
- Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
- Implement result-driven curriculum and instruction specially designed to meet the unique needs of each student resulting from his/her disability such as, resource room, inclusion and/or pullout services.
- Attend professional development, specialized trainings and IEP meetings with special education team and parents as required.
- Assist with the required compliance documentation.
