About The Position

Building Connections Academy (a special education nonpublic school with locations in Concord and Martinez, CA) is seeking a School-Based Special Education Paraprofessional to join their supportive, mission-driven team. This role involves providing 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students with autism and other developmental differences, helping them develop communication, social, and life skills while fostering a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment. The position is in-person, Monday to Friday, with a minimum availability requirement from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Requirements

• RBT certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
• Required immunizations including MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hep B, and TB clearance (within 4 years).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral and educational support in a school setting.
• Implement individualized programs and collect data to track progress.
• Teach communication, social, play, and self-help skills.
• Encourage independence and build positive relationships with students.
• Maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment.
