About The Position

Paraeducators provide instructional support and deliver other direct services to students under the direction of a certified teacher or other licensed employee. This full-time, benefits-eligible position is scheduled for nine months, Monday through Friday, at Horace Mann-Roosevelt Elementary School. The position is available immediately. The listed pay range is $18.24 to $22.70 per hour. Additional education or experience may be required for specific aide positions. Some positions are supported by Title I funds and require additional education or certification; Title I Paraprofessional Certification is required before hire or work with students if hired into a Title I position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing with students, colleagues, and parents or guardians.
• Basic academic and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working or volunteering in a school setting.
• Experience working with individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Associate degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a similar field.
• Experience as a direct support professional, personal care aide, CNA, or in a similar position.
