This position is responsible for assisting certificated staff by performing instructional support tasks related to the students' educational development within the total school environment and by being a positive role model for students. The role involves providing instructional support for IEP students, assisting with behavior and social skills, and helping students develop functional skills for independence. The Para-Educator will implement and reinforce social skills training programs, assist with record-keeping, material development, and preparation of teaching aids. They will learn and independently carry out instructional programs under the direction of a teacher, collaborate with classroom teachers, assist in student assessments, and monitor student progress. Additionally, the role involves promoting positive public relations and performing routine clerical tasks.
