About The Position
The Para-Educator supports students with disabilities in classrooms, community-based experiences, or one-on-one settings. Under the guidance of certified/licensed staff, you will assist with instructional, behavioral, and health-related activities to help students achieve their Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Physical ability to lift/move students and perform essential duties
- Must meet Michigan DHS Child Abuse and Neglect Registry clearance
Nice To Haves
- College coursework in child development, education, psychology, or special education preferred
- Experience working with children/adults with special needs preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with instructional activities
