This position is responsible for assisting certificated staff by performing instructional support tasks related to the students' educational development within the total school environment and by being a positive role model for students. The role involves providing instructional support for IEP students, assisting with behavior and social skills, developing functional skills for independence, implementing social skills training, and supporting teachers with record-keeping, material development, and teaching aids. The para-educator will learn and independently carry out instructional programs under the direction of a teacher, collaborate with classroom teachers, assist in student assessments, and monitor student progress. Additionally, the role includes promoting positive public relations and performing routine clerical tasks.
