About The Position

KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School is seeking passionate and culturally competent Special Education Inclusion Lead Teachers to ensure all students are growing and achieving. This role involves supporting students through inclusive teaching, small group pull-outs, and co-teaching/co-planning in core classes. The Special Education Inclusion Lead Teacher will collaborate with homeroom/Lead Teachers to plan, instruct, and assess lessons, providing necessary accommodations, modifications, and resources for student access to content and curriculum. Responsibilities include writing and managing IEP paperwork and meetings, communicating with students and families about progress, and advocating for students. This position is ideal for flexible and creative teachers dedicated to serving high-need students and mastering content delivery through best practices.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Computer literacy and baseline familiarity with Google Suite.

  • Obtain required MTEL and SEI endorsements with financial support from KIPP MA within the first year of employment.
  • Ability to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make reasonable judgments and decisions in a timely manner.
  • Self-awareness, flexibility and emotional intelligence to navigate a setting with students who express diverse needs.
  • Consistent use of interpersonal and self-management skills to effectively support behavioral and emotional needs of students.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead or co-lead in a classroom, potentially leading independently, co-teaching, covering classes, or stepping into a lead role.
  • Ensure all children feel affirmed, valued, and challenged daily.
  • Create and foster a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Co-create and internalize rigorous and engaging units and daily lesson plans with the homeroom/Lead Teacher.
  • Set specific, ambitious growth goals for students on caseload and utilize resources to ensure they are met.
  • Conduct ongoing progress monitoring of student progress towards IEP goals.
  • Utilize special education best practices to execute engaging instruction, including accommodations, modifications, monitoring of extra time, and small group instruction/pull-out.
  • Infuse core values into lessons and school practices, implementing school-wide student culture systems and positive classroom management strategies.
  • Regularly analyze student work to support student-specific modifications and accommodations.
  • Support in maintaining accurate student grades/records and strong communication lines with students and families regarding progress.
  • Provide feedback and support to homeroom/Lead Teacher regarding curriculum and instructional best practices for students on caseload.
  • Build strong working relationships with homeroom/Lead Teacher for effective collaboration on curriculum, instruction, and classroom management.
  • Participate in school-wide and individual professional development, including summer pre-service training and academic year sessions.
  • Take ownership of professional craft development, seek feedback from a coach, and engage in co-planning and active practices.
  • Perform necessary support duties, including coverage, bus, lunch, and dismissal duties.
  • Develop strong relationships with families through school events and consistent phone calls home.
  • Offer support and receive constructive feedback from colleagues to foster a professional working atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with grade level and content teams to update and advocate for students on caseload.
  • Write, lead, and manage IEP and 504 paperwork and meetings.
  • Maintain dependable attendance according to the school calendar.

  • Participate and engage in regional professional development and community events.

Benefits

  • Minimum base salary of $55,000 to $89,500 (per 1.0 FTE/45 hours per week), depending on years of experience after Bachelor's degree.
  • +$3,000 for 1st advanced degree.
  • +$1,500 for 2nd advanced degree.
  • $1,000 signing bonus.
  • Annual $2,000 retention bonus in subsequent years.
