This position supports the implementation of district-approved special education transition, career-readiness, and work-based learning services. The Special Education Job Coach Paraeducator provides individualized job coaching, monitoring, documentation, and assistance to assigned students at school-based and approved community work sites. The role involves reinforcing work-based learning activities and functional academic skills, observing and documenting student progress, and developing student-friendly job descriptions. The paraeducator will establish and maintain professional relationships with worksite staff, employers, community partners, and families, while modeling and reinforcing appropriate workplace behavior. Safety, sanitation, hygiene, health, and emergency procedures must be followed, and hazards or incidents reported immediately. Regular communication with teachers, coordinators, and administrators is essential, along with accurate and timely completion of assigned records and documentation. The role also includes monitoring and communicating student transportation concerns and performing other duties as assigned.
