About The Position

Achieve Beyond is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. This role involves providing one-on-one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program. The SEIT will educate family members and caregivers on intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over. Services are provided in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and other community settings. The position requires maintaining accurate records of services provided, submitting evaluations and progress reports in a timely manner, and adhering to confidentiality regulations. Achieve Beyond specializes in evaluations and ongoing services in homes, community, and clinic settings, offering ABA, Speech, Occupational, Social Work, and Physical therapy, as well as Special Education/SEIT services for children and families in the New York metro area and beyond.

Requirements

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• One of the following NYS certifications/licenses: Students with Disabilities (Birth – 2) Initial or Professional Certification OR Students with Disabilities All Grades, Initial or Professional OR Permanent Special Education Certification
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to: Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Responsibilities

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluations and progress reports in a timely manner
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines
