About The Position

Achieve Beyond is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) to join our team in Nassau, NY. This role involves providing one-on-one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years within our CPSE program. The SEIT will educate family members and caregivers on intervention strategies to ensure active involvement and carry-over of learned skills. Services are provided in diverse settings, including patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and other community locations. The position requires maintaining accurate records of services, submitting evaluations and progress reports in a timely manner, and adhering to confidentiality regulations (HIPAA and State & Federal). Achieve Beyond offers a supportive culture, collaboration, and high-quality services, specializing in ABA, Speech, Occupational, Social Work, and Physical therapy, as well as Special Education/SEIT services for children and families in the New York metropolitan area and beyond.

Requirements

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• One of the following NYS certifications/licenses: Students with Disabilities (Birth – 2) Initial or Professional Certification, Permanent Special Education Certification, TSHH Permanent Certification, TSLD Initial or Professional Certification, NYS Licensed Master Social Worker, NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!
• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to: Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluations and progress reports in a timely manner
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines
