Part Time Special Education Instructor
About The Position
Brightmont Academy, founded in 1999, is dedicated to helping students from 1st to 12th grade reach their full potential through personalized one-on-one instruction. With 20 campuses nationwide, we foster a nurturing learning environment where students can thrive. This role involves using the provided APEX Learning curriculum to deliver instruction, along with necessary accommodations and modifications based on IEPs, to ensure student success. The ideal candidate will have experience with students in ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs. A case manager will handle most administrative tasks, allowing the instructor to concentrate on individual student needs in the classroom.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- LBS1 certification
- Patience and empathy, understanding that every student learns differently.
- A genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject matter.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints (AZ, WA, only) and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs.
Responsibilities
- Teach students one-on-one, tailoring lessons to their unique needs and learning styles.
- Guide students to mastery using a gradual release approach.
- Focus on inspiring students without the burden of lesson planning, parent conferences, or extensive grading.
- Provide accommodations and modifications as required by IEPs.
- Utilize the provided APEX Learning curriculum.
