About The Position

The Special Education Instructional Facilitator (SEIF) is responsible for providing instructional support and guidance to special education teachers and staff. This role focuses on improving the quality of special education services and ensuring compliance with legal and district requirements. The SEIF will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to develop and implement effective instructional strategies and interventions for students with disabilities.

Requirements

  • Valid Nevada Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education.
  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience in special education.
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations (e.g., IDEA).
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis for instructional decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based instructional practices and interventions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide effective coaching and professional development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an Instructional Coach or Facilitator.
  • Experience with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
  • Knowledge of various assistive technology tools and strategies.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instructional support and coaching to special education teachers.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Monitor student progress and provide data-driven recommendations for instructional adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations.
  • Conduct professional development sessions for special education staff.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusive practices.
  • Support the use of evidence-based instructional strategies and assistive technology.
  • Assist in the evaluation of special education programs and services.
  • Serve as a resource for parents and guardians regarding special education services.
