About The Position

The Special Education Instructional Facilitator (SEIF) is responsible for providing instructional support and coaching to special education teachers and general education teachers who serve students with disabilities. The SEIF will collaborate with school-based teams to ensure effective implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), promote evidence-based instructional practices, and support the academic and social-emotional growth of students with disabilities. This role involves direct support to teachers, data analysis, professional development, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment.

Requirements

  • Valid Nevada Professional Teacher License with an endorsement in Special Education.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience in special education.
  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations.
  • Experience with curriculum development and instructional strategies for diverse learners.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and use it to inform instruction.
  • Experience in providing professional development or coaching.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an Instructional Coach or Facilitator.
  • Experience with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
  • Knowledge of various assistive technology tools.
  • Experience working with a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional coaching and support to special education and general education teachers.
  • Collaborate with school teams to develop and implement effective instructional strategies for students with disabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Provide professional development and training to staff on special education topics and best practices.
  • Analyze student data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
  • Support teachers in classroom management and behavior support strategies.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive school culture.
  • Serve as a resource for parents and guardians regarding special education services.
  • Participate in school-based problem-solving teams.
