As an Inclusion Teacher, you will collaborate with regular education teachers to plan and present lesson plans, create assessments, and ensure the needs of all students in the classroom are met. The focus is on scaffolding activities and differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students, not just those with special education needs, to keep them from feeling singled out. Instruction may be provided within the regular classroom setting, resource setting, and/or small classroom setting. You will develop Individualized Student Programs (IEP) and ensure appropriate accommodations to the curriculum, lessons, and learning environment. Building a partnership with families and encouraging their active participation is also a key aspect of this role. You will also direct the work of assigned instructional aides.
