This position is responsible for creating a classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth of every student. The teacher will establish effective rapport with students, motivate them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for responsible citizenship, and foster good relationships with parents and other staff members. The role involves instructing students in a program of study that meets stated objectives and facilitates knowledge transfer, including citizenship and basic subject matter as per state law and school division regulations. The teacher will develop lesson plans, provide individualized and small group instruction, and adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of each student. Key duties include guiding the learning process towards IEP goals, serving as a liaison between the classroom and specialty groups, evaluating student academic and social growth, communicating progress to parents, supervising student movement, and administering standardized testing. The position also involves participating in professional development, student and parent activities, and creating an effective learning environment.
