About The Position

This position involves implementing and overseeing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems for verbal and non-verbal learners, adapting curriculum for various cognitive levels with a focus on functional academics, sensory integration, and daily living skills. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit upon hire.
  • Enrollment in a Teacher's Education Program if hired without completing one, with a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license.
  • Satisfactorily demonstrate active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements each year.
  • Plan and facilitate Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
  • Exercise independent and professional judgment in carrying out daily functions.
  • Maintain an effective work pace under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Grasp new concepts quickly and apply them effectively.
  • Work effectively with others.
