About The Position

High Tech Middle is seeking a Special Education Academic Coach I for an as-needed substitute position. This role involves assisting students within the classroom, facilitating small group and individual instruction, and ensuring students with diverse needs have access to the general education curriculum. The Special Education Academic Coach I is crucial for maintaining a low student-teacher ratio and providing individualized attention for student success.

Requirements

High School diploma/GED
An Associate's degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university or Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading (or readiness), writing (or readiness), and mathematics (or readiness).
Experience in a school/learning environment preferred

Responsibilities

Assist with the instruction and supervision of students who may have learning differences
Assist with tutorial activities working with an individual or group of students who may have learning differences
Monitor student progress and provide input for evaluation and parent conference upon request
Establish rapport and meaningful relationships with referred students to assist in improving their behavior, educational performance, and social relationships
Perform clerical support duties including typing, completing documents, forms, record, correspondence; which may include note taking for students
