About The Position

Elara Caring is hiring a Special Care Aide to support clients receiving care at home in the Athens, Texas service area. The aide helps new clients begin services, serves as a connection between clients and the branch team, and helps ensure clear communication and a seamless care experience. The role involves working across multiple clients and care situations, traveling between visits, and providing coverage for open shifts and urgent staffing needs. It offers flexible scheduling and experience intended to support professional growth and potential advancement within Personal Care Services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, where required by state regulations.
• At least six months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals.
• Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide, Homemaker, CNA, MA, or similar certification where required.
• Basic technology skills and comfort using mobile devices, apps, and electronic documentation systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments.
• Reliable personal transportation, current registration, and auto insurance.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform physical caregiving duties.

Responsibilities

• Support new client admissions and Start of Care visits.
• Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene.
• Prepare meals and assist with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping and household support.
• Assist with errands and transportation when appropriate.
• Monitor and report changes in clients' conditions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and visit records.
• Provide coverage for open shifts, call-offs, and urgent staffing needs.
• Travel throughout the assigned service area to support clients.
