About The Position

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as a Special Assets Manager. This important role is responsible for monitoring and managing the physical condition and financial performance of Virginia Housing’s owned multifamily portfolio. This role supports the development of strategic direction for the owned assets and provides recommendations regarding property retention or disposition as the portfolio evolves. In addition, the Special Assets Manager actively oversees properties on the at‑risk and watch lists, with particular focus on those exhibiting elevated foreclosure risk. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and professional certifications (such as CPM or CCIM) that demonstrate strong professional competency.
  • Working knowledge of real estate analysis, asset management, and/or property management practices
  • The ability to conduct on-site property inspections, including navigating buildings, stairways, and grounds.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • A valid driver's license
  • Virginia Housing requires associates to live and work within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in commercial real estate acquisition and property disposition.
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures and familiarity with construction documents, including plans and specifications.
  • Experience with, or coursework in, analyzing operating budgets and audited financial statements.
