About The Position

Assisting the Education Coordinator in development of the ongoing educational and service commitment of the Florida/USVI Poison Information Center-Jacksonville to the general public and health care professionals within the Poison Information Center's service area as needed. Participate in the operation of the Poison Information Center and, if the staff member has met criteria to be designated as a 'Specialist in Poison Information', they can assist in the provision of assessment and management of poisoning exposures.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine or Physician's Assistant.
• Proficiency in assuming an educator role.
• Good organizational skills.
• Public speaking abilities.
• Proficiency in patient care.
• Understanding of learning capabilities of all ages.
• Ability to effectively communicate with public and health care professionals.
• 1-2 years of Clinical Experience.

Nice To Haves

• Licensure to practice nursing, pharmacy, medicine, or physician's assistant in the State of Florida.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of educational materials and programs.
• Participate in the operation of the Poison Information Center.
• Provide assessment and management of poisoning exposures (if designated as 'Specialist in Poison Information').
