About The Position

Plans and develops modality orientation and training programs and is directly involved in the assessment process. Develops new strategies for revenue/research opportunities in the modality. In collaboration with radiology/cardiovascular management and the education department, facilitates continuous improvement processes and assess modality employee educational needs and requirements. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure when required. Provides education for research to physicians and employees in operation of medical equipment and protocols as needed. Also, acts as a liaison to ancillary areas involved or those areas that would benefit in terms of cardiovascular research.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree related field or equivalent
• 5 years of relevant experience clinical
• 3 years of relevant experience modality-specific

Responsibilities

• Develops new strategies for revenue/research opportunities and collaborates with manager on ways to improve productivity and reduce cost.
• Assesses education and orientation requirements for modality employees in order to develop, evaluate, implement and revise educational programs and training materials.
• Maintains a very high level of knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
• Revises research programs and training as needed.
• Establishes and maintains all protocols with radiologist/cardiologist, manager and team leads input.
• Attends all section meetings and collaborates with manager for distribution of minutes.
• Designs, writes, edits, assembles and distributes user protocol manuals, reference material and orientation materials including research projects.
• Maintains responsibility for the research trial, evaluation of equipment, supplies, and resources utilized in area of accountability.
• Works closely with technology manager and vendor representatives on all new products.
• Evaluates images and data for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, and provides hard copy record of procedures when appropriate, assuring proper identification is evident.
• Initiates, coordinates, and produces necessary data for accreditation process/renewal.
• Assists in the development / maintenance of the quality imaging program, in coordination with the modality manager and team leads/supervisor for cardiovascular, technical operations manager and physicist.
• Documents and provides feedback to manager on the quality of work for individual technologists.
• Provides feedback to technologists on an individual basis to improve the quality of imaging skills and quality on the picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
• Identifies policies/procedures needed for site/service and participates in writing, reviewing and revising site/service policies/procedures with their manager.
• Assists manager in the interviewing process of new employees, but does not make final hiring decision.
• Mentors/coaches and develops employees and acts as a role model and resource to them.
• Monitors, assesses and evaluates orientees weekly or as needed.
• Coordinates with lead technologists in scheduling the availability of time for new and unique procedures.
