About The Position

Establishes training for newly hired SPD technicians and provides ongoing training for current technicians. Ensures training and education are sufficient to maintain high standards with regulatory agencies such as the state and Joint Commission. Acts as a liaison between SPD and other hospital staff and departments, keeping the Manager and Director informed of departmental operations.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience within an acute care hospital.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Central Service Technician Certificate.
• Central Processing Technician Certificate through IAHCSMM or CBSPD.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage, prioritize, and complete work assignments and other duties as assigned.
• Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
