About The Position

Establishes training for newly hired SPD technicians as well as ongoing training for current techs. Assures training and education is sufficient to maintain high standards with regulatory agencies such as the state and Joint Commission. Acts as a liaison between SPD and other hospital staff and departments keeping the Manager and Director informed of departmental operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years experience within an acute care hospital.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Central Service Technician Certificate.
• Central Processing Technician Certificate through IAHCSMM or CBSPD.
• Able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to manage/prioritize/complete work assignments and other duties as assigned.
• Basic Computer skills.
• Operation of various decontamination and sterilization equipment including biological, chemical, and mechanical monitoring.
• Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
