About The Position

Empower AI is seeking a Spare & Break-Fix Inventory Technician for an exciting opportunity at the Department of State. This role is responsible for maintaining an inventory of spare equipment and components to ensure Continuity of Operations (COOP) when IT hardware failures occur within the global customer IT enterprise environment. The technician will manage quantities of break-fix computers and components, set up compatible replacement hardware, track repair shipments, and assist with packaging and shipping processes for IT equipment, including overseas locations.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience
• Associate's degree or equivalent experience
• Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

• Comp TIA Sec+ Certification
• ITIL 4 Foundation Certification

Responsibilities

• Maintain an inventory of spare equipment and components as replacements to ensure Continuity of Operations (COOP) when hardware failure occurs of IT equipment anywhere within the global customer IT enterprise environment.
• Maintain quantities of break-fix computers and components (desktops, laptops, monitors, hard disks, power supplies, mice, keyboards) to meet established SLAs.
• Set up compatible replacement hardware of equal or better performance upon receipt of a hardware failure based on the priority of the service desk request.
• Track the delivery status of items sent out for repair to manufacturers.
• Assist in the management of all packaging and shipping processes for IT equipment, including shipments to remote and challenging overseas locations, adhering to customer standards.
