About The Position

Holy Family Catholic Academy (HFCA), a Catholic school serving students in Pre-K through 8th grade and an International Baccalaureate Candidate School, is seeking an enthusiastic, faith-filled, and highly qualified Spanish Teacher to join our faculty. We are looking for an educator who sees teaching Spanish as more than vocabulary and grammar. Our ideal candidate brings language and culture to life and creates a classroom where students are excited to communicate, explore, take risks, and grow. The successful candidate will be a team player who is flexible, dependable, creative, and student-centered. They will build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families; maintain high expectations while approaching students with compassion; and contribute enthusiastically to the life of the school.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Spanish is required, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging, student-centered lessons and adapt instruction to different learning needs.
  • Commitment to collaboration and being a positive, dependable member of a faculty team.
  • Willingness to embrace the mission and Catholic identity of Holy Family Catholic Academy.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Spanish, Education, World Languages, or a related field preferred.
  • Teaching certification and/or previous classroom teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience teaching Spanish to elementary and/or middle school students strongly preferred.
  • Ability to effectively teach and engage students across a wide developmental range, from early childhood through middle school.
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based learning and the International Baccalaureate framework is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate Spanish instruction for students in Pre-K through 8th grade.
  • Develop students' Spanish language proficiency through speaking, listening, reading, writing, music, movement, conversation, and cultural experiences.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the developmental and academic needs of students across multiple grade levels.
  • Create a classroom environment that is welcoming, structured, joyful, and conducive to learning.
  • Establish and consistently maintain clear classroom expectations, routines, and positive behavior-management practices.
  • Design lessons that encourage active participation, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and real-world language application.
  • Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback to students and families.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, attendance, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate professionally and proactively with parents and families regarding student learning and progress.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and schoolwide initiatives.
  • Incorporate Catholic values, respect for human dignity, service, and community into the classroom environment.
  • Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, liturgies, and other aspects of the HFCA community.
  • Support the mission, philosophy, policies, and expectations of Holy Family Catholic Academy and the Diocese of Dallas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
