About The Position

Independence Mission Schools (IMS) educate students of all faiths living throughout Philadelphia. Our inspiring new network of 14 schools blends the best of Catholic education with innovative teaching strategies designed to meet the unique learning needs of all students. St. Helena-Incarnation, an Independence Mission School, is seeking a full-time Spanish Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The Specials teacher should have a strong understanding of evidence - based age-appropriate curriculum and instructional strategies, enthusiasm for innovative practices, willingness to participate as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team, and possess the ability to adapt activities in order to incorporate the diverse strengths of students. The successful candidate will: Model outstanding character with a commitment to the moral formation of our students. Set high behavioral and academic expectations for students. Implement effective classroom management systems and maintain a positive, respectful, productive culture of learning. Deliver engaging and effective lessons to students at various skill levels, using data to inform instruction, and provide additional support or advanced challenges as needed. Communicate with parents regularly about student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns. Be an enthusiastic learner, committed to his or her own growth as an educator, who applies skills learned through coaching, grade level teamwork, and professional development.

Requirements

  • High School Degree (required)
  • Clearances on all required background checks (required)
  • Content aptitude and a passion for education.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching or working with children in an educational setting (preferred)
  • A track record of leading students to successfully achieve academic and behavioral expectations.
