About The Position

Bishop Dunne Catholic School is seeking a highly qualified Spanish Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. As the only diocesan Catholic school serving students in grades six through twelve, Bishop Dunne is proud to reflect the rich diversity of Dallas. More than 75% of our students identify as students of color, and approximately half are Catholic. The ideal candidate is a dedicated educator who understands both the rewards and demands of teaching with at least two years of experience teaching Spanish at the secondary level and in-depth knowledge of the subject matter. Teachers at Bishop Dunne are responsible for designing daily lessons aligned with course goals, assessing student work, maintaining accurate records, leading an advisory group, and fulling standard administrative responsibilities, including attendance, gradebook management, and narrative comments. Requirements

• At least two years of experience teaching Spanish at the secondary level
• In-depth knowledge of the subject matter
• Bachelor's degree in Spanish or at least 18 graduate credits in Spanish from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 12 education credits required
• Demonstrated experience teaching students in grades 6-12
• Excellent active listening, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the school and community
• Proficiency with instructional technology and related professional tools
• Ability to pass all background checks and comply with the Diocese of Dallas Safe Environment Program
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred
• A valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements for the subject and level assigned is preferred
• AP experience strongly preferred
• Experience with TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) and/or comprehensible input is a plus
