The professional medical interpreter facilitates linguistic and cultural communication between patients and healthcare providers, handling both spoken and written language in healthcare settings and adhering to a professional code of ethics. This role may also function as a Linguistic Services Coordinator, receiving and arranging interpreter services, triaging and prioritizing requests, and deploying staff and vendor interpreters. The interpreter will coordinate assignments across multiple Temple Health facilities. A medical interpreter certification test must be passed within 6 months of hire. The role also involves assisting with training and coaching new interpreters in classroom and clinical settings.
