Requirements

Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written)
2+ years of medical interpretation experience
Strong understanding of medical terminology
Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of a medical interpretation competency test
Ability to obtain one of the following certifications within 2 years (if not already obtained): Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) or Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI)

Responsibilities

Providing real-time interpretation between patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Accurately conveying medical terminology, including anatomy, prescriptions, and procedures
Ensuring patients fully understand their care, treatment plans, and next steps
Maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with all privacy regulations
Supporting both verbal communication and occasional written translations
Delivering high-quality interpretation in a fast-paced healthcare environment
