About The Position

Climate Central is seeking a Civic Science Fellow to serve as our Spanish-Language Engagement Fellow. This 18-month fellowship will be part of the Civic Science Fellows Program, supported by the Rita Allen Foundation. The Fellow will help Climate Central better understand and serve Spanish-language media and the communities they reach, many of whom are on the frontlines of climate change. The Spanish-Language Engagement Fellow will engage deeply with journalists, meteorologists, social media content creators, scientists, and organizations communicating with Hispanic/Latino communities, to help them drive public understanding about climate change. Over 18 months, they will build relationships and help Climate Central transform the resources and analyses offered to better serve these communicators and their audiences. The Senior Engagement Specialist will supervise the Spanish-Language Engagement Fellow. The Fellow will also work closely with Climate Central's full team of scientists, data analysts, communication professionals, and content creators. This position is a full-time, 18-month fellowship. The Civic Science Fellows Program builds a national network of emerging leaders working at the intersection of science, technology, and civic life. Civic Science Fellows are cross-disciplinary communicators and bridge builders who help connect scientific knowledge with community needs. Fellows are embedded in host organizations for 18 months to co-create and pilot projects that advance civic science practice. They also participate in a national learning cohort that includes convenings, workshops, and peer exchange, which will launch in September 2026.
