About The Position

Study Smart is hiring a part-time tutor to provide in-person instruction in ELA, ELD, and early literacy to students in grades 3–5 in San Jose, California. The tutor will support small and large groups of students, adapt to instructional materials and teaching strategies, communicate consistently with Study Smart staff, and collaborate with the Education team on comprehensive learning strategies. The role offers flexible availability Monday through Friday during or after school hours.

Requirements

• A completed four-year degree is required.
• In-person availability is required.
• Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting depending on location.

Nice To Haves

• Spanish bilingual ability is preferred but not required.
• Teaching or tutoring experience is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring in ELA, ELD, and early literacy to students in grades 3–5.
• Provide tutoring support to small and large groups of students.
• Adapt to new materials and teaching strategies.
• Maintain consistent communication with Study Smart staff.
• Partner with Study Smart’s Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies to students.
