About The Position

Study Smart seeks a part-time tutor to provide in-person ELA, ELD, and early literacy support to students in grades 3–5 in San Jose, California. The tutor will work with small and large groups, adapt to instructional materials and teaching strategies, and coordinate with Study Smart staff and the Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies. The schedule calls for flexible availability Monday through Friday during or after school hours.

Requirements

• Completed four-year degree.
• In-person availability is required.
• Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting depending on location.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred but not required.
• Teaching or tutoring experience is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Teach ELA, ELD, and early literacy to students in grades 3–5.
• Provide tutoring support to small and large groups of students.
• Adapt to new materials and teaching strategies.
• Maintain consistent communication with Study Smart staff.
• Partner with Study Smart’s Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies to students.
