About The Position

Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Spacesuit Technologist for supporting the Orion Crew Survival Systems (OCSS) project. This position is an immediate need to join Nexus, a teammate company. The Spacesuit Technologist will focus on understanding the theory and operation of OCSS hardware, including cleaning requirements, maintenance, handling, and safety. The role involves setting up support equipment prior to testing, assisting existing OCSS Suit Engineering Technologists during fit checks and testing, and progressing through necessary training to become proficient in fit checks, crew training events, and eventually Orion Vehicle Ingress/Egress Operations. The position requires participation in all pre/post event briefings, supporting the Crew Survival Equipment lab schedule, and participating in suit test subject and crew training exercises. Understanding Ground Support Hardware theory and operation, providing required Work Authorizing Documentation, and following project documentation, including supporting drawing construction, are key aspects. The technologist will support testing of OCSS hardware such as the Orion Crew Survival Suit, Emergency Breathing Oxygen Systems, Pressure Systems, and Survival Equipment. This includes supporting the buildup of Ground Service Equipment and periodic re-calibration. The role also involves assisting project management and Project Engineers with OCSS Qualification testing, Pre-Delivery/Installation Acceptance Testing. The individual will work in a team environment, reporting to project management to provide status on progress and issues related to supporting the OCSS NASA customer. Other duties as required.
