About The Position

Parsons is looking for a talented Space Systems Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer 2026 internship program! This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn the engineering aspects of space vehicle operations. You'll gain practical experience in telemetry analysis, command execution, and anomaly resolution, while working alongside experienced engineers and contributing to real-world missions. This is a summer internship opportunity for a technically promising college student with interest in Satellite and Ground Station operations. The selected individual will be mentored by members of our Satellite Operations Systems and Services team to provide support to both internal and customer focused projects.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a BS in Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • A willingness to learn new engineering skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Willingness to work onsite in Colorado Springs

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ground station systems and data processing techniques
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, CAD tools)
  • Demonstrated leadership ability through community or campus involvement

Responsibilities

  • Perform satellite telemetry, tracking, and commanding functions
  • Monitor satellite health and status
  • Analyze data to identify trends and anomalies
  • Contribute to troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts
  • Assist in the preparation of documents
  • Take ownership of tasks and proactively identify areas for improvement or support
  • Embrace cross-functional duties and support other team members as needed
