Space Planning Program Manager

AppleAustin, TX

About The Position

At Apple, the places where people work are as intentional as the products we make. The Space Planning Program Manager is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of people, real estate, and business — and to shape how thousands of Apple employees experience their workplace every day. In this role, you will serve as the dedicated space advocate for your business unit, owning the strategy and outcomes that determine how your teams are seated, supported, and set up to do their best work. Working alongside our cross functional teams, you will bring the program structure, the stakeholder relationships, and the foresight that transforms complex constraints into real solutions. If you thrive in ambiguity, build trust through action, and believe that a well-planned space can change how people feel about coming to work — this role was built for you. Apple is seeking a highly motivated Space Planning Program Manager to support strategic space planning and workplace planning initiatives across a dynamic and rapidly evolving organization. This role will partner closely with cross-functional teams including Business Operations, Finance, Real Estate & Development, and leadership to develop space strategies that align with business priorities, headcount growth, and organizational needs. The ideal candidate is a strong program manager with experience leading complex planning efforts, translating business requirements into scalable space solutions, and driving cross-functional alignment from strategy through execution. This person should be comfortable working in ambiguity, balancing short-term operational needs with long-term planning, and using data to support recommendations and decision-making.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in program management, workplace strategy, space planning, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated track record managing large-scale, multi-workstream programs end-to-end across global or multi-site environments.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes — including senior leadership, Finance, HR, and cross-functional partners — while balancing competing needs and maintaining trust under pressure.
  • Strong data fluency — uses occupancy data, headcount forecasts, and planning metrics to inform decisions and communicate trade-offs with clarity.
  • Proven ability to deliver results through ambiguity — builds a path forward without waiting for perfect information.
  • Background in corporate real estate, facilities management, or workplace strategy at a technology company or large enterprise.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to communicate difficult space constraints honestly to senior leadership without losing their confidence.
  • Demonstrated instinct for proactive relationship-building — knowing who to involve, when to involve them, and what they care about before being asked.
