Space Network Systems Architect

The Aerospace Corporation•El Segundo, CA
•$129,000 - $193,500•Onsite

About The Position

The Aerospace Corporation’s Network Systems Department is seeking an innovative Space Network Systems Architect to lead the development and analysis of future space network concepts and their connectivity to ground entry points. The role includes validating network architectures against customer requirements, prototyping network segments to verify data-throughput resiliency, conducting routing-protocol trade studies, and preparing technology demonstrations to optimize terrestrial, satellite, launch-vehicle, and ground-based communication systems. The architect will also support optical communication networking testbeds by configuring endpoint networking hardware and connecting it with AWS VPC CloudFormation templates. The position requires knowledge of current networking and enterprise-computing technologies and the ability to apply that knowledge to challenging customer problems. The selected candidate will work full time on-site at the company’s El Segundo, California facility. The role involves technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams, development of network protocols and architectures, technical studies and research, and collaboration with DoD, intelligence community, civil, and commercial customers and partners.
